Adjustment Method of Inlet Pressure for Membrane Separation Nitrogen Generator

Inlet pressure is one of the core operating parameters of membrane separation nitrogen generators, which directly affects nitrogen production efficiency, gas purity and membrane element service life. Membrane separation nitrogen generators rely on the different penetration rates of oxygen, nitrogen and other gas molecules in polymer membrane materials to realize gas separation. Stable and standard inlet pressure can ensure the full play of membrane separation performance, while too high or too low pressure will lead to reduced gas production, unqualified purity and even damage to membrane components. Therefore, standardized pressure adjustment is the key daily maintenance skill of the equipment.

First, clarify the standard inlet pressure range of membrane separation equipment. Conventional industrial membrane nitrogen generators have a rated inlet pressure of 0.6-0.8MPa, and the optimal operating pressure is stabilized at 0.7MPa. Before adjustment, operators need to check the inlet pressure gauge, air pipeline tightness and pressure regulating valve status to eliminate pressure fluctuation caused by pipeline leakage and valve failure. If the inlet pressure is lower than 0.6MPa, the gas flow rate passing through the membrane element is insufficient, the oxygen-nitrogen separation is incomplete, and the nitrogen purity will drop significantly. At this time, slowly adjust the air compressor output pressure and fine-tune the primary pressure regulating valve of the nitrogen generator to gradually increase the inlet pressure to the standard range.

If the inlet pressure exceeds 0.8MPa, excessive pressure will impact the membrane element, destroy the internal membrane structure, cause permanent attenuation of separation performance, and even lead to pipeline burst risk. It is necessary to slowly open the pressure relief valve to release excess pressure, and calibrate the pressure regulating valve to lock the upper limit of pressure. After each pressure adjustment, it is necessary to keep the equipment running stably for 15-30 minutes, observe the changes of nitrogen purity and gas production, and fine-tune the pressure value according to the actual demand. Regular pressure calibration every month can effectively avoid equipment failure and maintain the long-term stable operation of membrane separation nitrogen generators.
